Jungle Tour from Krabi Island

On my recent travel to Thailand, I had ended up on the island of Krabi! Here I took the famous Jungle Tour, which is not in any way a disappointment. The tour will start at 8:00 AM and will end at 2:00 PM. This tour is a fair price, with all national park and tour fees included so you won’t need to pay anything extra once you’re on the tour. If you need transportation, they can provide you with an air-conditioned minivan that picks you up at your hotel, Krabi Town, Ao Nang, or Klong Muang. Of course, you may also use your own transportation. Upon arrival, they will assign you your tickets, afterwards you will have a bit of spare time, so I used that to grab a bite to eat. When it’s time to go they will make sure everyone is together, and further assist you with direction on which tour van you will be taking.

All of the vans are air-conditioned and spacious; which is nice because the first stop is going to be the Hot Spring Waterfalls, they are located in the Thung Teao Forest National Park, so the drive is about 45 minutes. The gorgeous hot springs provide a lot of space for everyone so you and your family can comfortably swim and relax. Below the hot springs, they have a beautiful naturally chilled pool you can slide down into whenever you feel the need and then climb back into the springs! Primarily on weekends, it will be much busier, but there is still enough room for everyone. You will have about two hours to spend at the hot springs. You will then pack up and take a walk even further into the jungle to see, and swim in the grand Emerald Pool!

The Emerald Pool is about a 10-15 minute walk from the hot springs. It is a lovely walk through the shaded jungle, but humid so it’s nice to be still wearing your swimsuit or light breathable clothing. When you enter, you will find a bathroom, a few places to eat, plenty of space to explore, and the stunning sight of the Blue Emerald Pool. It truly is an unbelievable sight to see the clarity of the water and the fantastic Emerald Blue color it portrays. In addition to that, there is a ton of room for everyone there and lots of places to keep your personal belongings safe. I recommend bringing a waterproof bag to keep your things in as most of this tour is involved with water. You will spend another 2 hours at Emerald Pool and then it will be time to start walking back at around 12:45. The tour van will leave at 1:30 PM and you will arrive back at Krabi island at 2:00 PM.

If you take this tour, you will not regret it! These genuinely are such remarkable places to visit. Below is a link to book with the company that offers this specific tour and many more! The link will also provide pricing, times, locations a list of well-recommended things to bring along on your trip!

Diving on the Island of Koh Tao

On my recent travels to Thailand, I had obtained my advanced open water license through Padi Dive School a 2-week long course from beginner to advanced in the wide-open waters of Koh Tao an island located in the Gulf of Thailand. This island is full of gorgeous diving spots! Let’s be honest if you’re expecting crystal clear blue water like the Philippines you won’t find it here. There is so much boat traffic on the island it’s hard to see past the sandy murk. If you are an experienced diver, you know that once you get to the bottom, it is a different world down there! Seeing you may be fresh to diving, well you are in for a very satisfying experience. On Koh Tao, you’ll find many dive spots surrounding the area and several different dive guides to take you out! Let me give you a few of the local guides & the most popular dive sites.

These will be the best guide only places that also offer optional accommodation with a resort, any others you will find you will need to either be taking a PADI dive course or NEED to be booking with a high-end resort. Nothing wrong with either of those but if you are just looking for guides only these are your go-to links!

My Trip to Krabi Thailand

During my month-long trip to the beautiful, beautiful country of Thailand, Krabi is where I found I needed some crucial self-care! Which I KIND of got. I spent lots of time drinking on the beach, getting massages the next day to cure my hangover and even getting eyelash extensions…About that…

Well, I was very on edge about the shop I went to as nothing in Krabi is updated or modernized. I went into this dry pastel blue salon with cracked concrete walls & dirty tiled floors, I saw packs of eyelash extensions, hair color, and acrylic nails thinking “oh no what have I done here, let’s just do this I need a lash fill anyways.” To my pleasant surprise, I had been put on Facebook live while this lady was doing work on my lashes! With all the Thai people in the world to view my face, I could hear a lot of ooh’s and awe’s, but I’m glad she could share her work with her own world and show them what she was worth- BECAUSE SHE WAS GOOD it turns out, her lash work was the best I have ever had, I felt so bad for continually repeating “I would like a natural look”. They were just gorgeous! On that note, I will get to my next experience.

The island of Krabi is tiny! But very adorable. Krabi has a small strip of bars, clubs, restaurants and salons I’ll begin by saying that’s where the first 3-4 days were wells spent until, the inevitable had come to me. I’m going to give you a bit of a back story to let you know we hadn’t been drugged, but only just that the second biggest vacation bummer had happened to us.

We had been traveling from South to North Thailand & back to South of Thailand for three weeks now spending 4 to 5 days in each place and then on to the next plane, ferry, and jet boat ride going to the neighboring island. Not to mention Krabi was a smaller island for relaxing but we did just a little of that, we were out just about every night on the small strip, bar hopping and eating, socializing with other foreigners and the locals. It was during one of those moments, my boyfriend had contracted the flu, YES the flu, not the date rape drug! My healthy, metabolized boyfriend Kai had caught the flu and passed it onto me. How refreshing! The guy only had it for two days while I had it for the rest of our trip. I can just remember going in out of consciousness on our bathroom floor and coming back to life thanking god we had a bathtub and AC. Then it was the bathroom to bed, and back to the toilet and back to the bed once more for the next week.

Traveling back to Bangkok to catch our flight back home was true, absolute hell I tell you. Luckily for me, Thailand has no shortage of pharmacies or medicine that coats your stomach & looks like drain o! If you are EVER in need of some stomach-soothing liquids in Thailand, WHITE RABBIT is your new best friend! Believe me when I say NOTHING else is going to help you.

Once I got to the airport I had been holding it all in and just when I think we are good, literally right before the security checkpoint, my bags are going through the detectors, and there it goes next thing I know I’m retching in the toilet with a pack of really concerned commuters just trying to wash their hands in the lavatory! – it certainly was the most uncomfortable thing coming out to see the terrified look on their faces like I was some sort of abnormity, which I guess is exactly what I was at the time…

So that was it, that was my experience on Krabi Island. If I can give you some tips it’s just to take a chill trip to Thailand and don’t try to travel to 20 different places in a month, you are going to get the travelers bug and you won’t always be as lucky as Mr. Kai the healthy guy with it only lasting two days. But maybe you’ll end up rather unlucky like myself. Either way, I wish you well! One last thing to remember is to always prepare yourself with a bottle of White Rabbit and have fun! I look back on this trip and appreciate the awful-ly good experience.
